Cloud PC (CPC)

TWSC Cloud PC (CPC) provides ASUS WebStorage member to directly access data through the pre-built WebStorage Drive software on the remote desktop to execute programs and applications. It provides the best virtual working environment according to your needs.

  • Log in to TWSC portal, and click Cloud PC on the service list:

You can click on the to the right of the service in All Services and pin your frequently used services to My Favorite Services to speed up the process.

  • On the Welcome page of Cloud PC, click Create Cloud PC to start building your first Cloud PC.

  • On the BASICS tab, fill in the name and description of the instance, select the image version you need, and "enable" or "disable" the deletion protection, then click NEXT: NETWORK>.

If the Deletion Protection is enabled, before deleting a resource, you need to disable it before continuing the deletion process. This can prevent the resource from being deleted by mistake, thus causing service interruption.

  • The Cloud PC network is set to a fixed specification:
    • Virtual Network is configured to default_network.
    • In the Assign Public IP section, please be sure to select Auto-assign Floating IP to avoid CPC startup failure.
    • For Security Group, Cloud PC instance allows for ingress 9833 port only, in order to protect the instance's safety and reduce information security risks.

caution

If you choose not to assign a public IP, you won't be able to successfully set up CPC. Please be sure to select Auto-assign Floating IP.

  1. Please create a default VNW (default_network) if you are a first-time user, please refer to the operation steps: Create a default network.
  2. The creation of VNWs is restricted to Tenant Admins. If you are a Tenant User, please contact the Tenant Admins of your project for assistance.
  • On the Storage Information page, set the following disk information:
    • System Disk:
      • System Disk Size (GB): 200 GB only.
      • System Disk Type: HDD only.
    • Data Disk:
      • Data Disk Size (GB): You can freely set the disk size (up to 16 TB).
      • Data Disk Type: 4 data disk types are provided - HDD, SSD, HDD encryption, and SSD encryption.

Regardless of the System Disk Size specification you select on the Storage Information page, the system will configure a fixed 200 GB.

  • Create Windows login password. Then click Next: Review & Create>

caution
  1. To protect your instance, we recommend setting a strong password with at least 17 characters.
  2. This password is for private use and will not be recorded or managed by TWSC. Please be sure to keep it properly, without it, you will not be able to connect to your VCS instance.
  • Then, click Next: Review & Create> to review the settings and the estimated cost of the instance. Click Create to complete.

  • After your Cloud PC is created, the connection can be started when the state of the instance turns Ready.

You can also create a Cloud PC from Virtual Compute Service. On the VCS Instance Management page, click +CREATE, and select Cloud PC (CPC) for your image type. Then, follow the above process to complete the creation.

  • It takes some time for the Cloud PC remote connection to be set up. You can connection to the instance when the instance state turns Ready.
  • On the Welcome page of Cloud PC, click Cloud PC Management to enter the VCS Instance Management page. You can view a list of created instances with basic informations, and also delete/reboot/start/stop an instance according to your needs. Check Stop/start/shutdown/restart/delete an instance for more details.
  • After you attach a data disk to your Cloud PC instance, you need to initialize it before using it. For more information, please refer to: HowTo: Initialize data disk- Windows instance.
